ON LICENSING
or: what’s mine, what’s yours, and what’s everyone’s.
This website is two different things stacked on top of each other.
The code — the HTML, the CSS, the JavaScript. Everything that makes the pages render, the galleries fade, the typography scale.
The work — the PHOTOs, the FILMs, the WRITINGs. The things I spent years making.
They are not the same kind of thing, and they don’t deserve the same rules.

All photographs, films, and written essays on this site are mine.
They are not open-source. They are not free to reuse, republish, reprint, screen, repost, or train models on.
If you want to use something, just ask.
I usually say yes, and will give you full-resolution sources.
The code — GPLv3
The code for the website is released under the GNU General Public License v3.
Read it, fork it, modify it, build your own portfolio on top of it. If anything here helped you figure out how to make something, take it — that’s what it’s for.
The gallery runs on lightGallery, which is GPLv3. The license requires any derived work to carry the same license. Meaning: publish your source, keep it free, and require everyone downstream to do the same. So if you use any of the code here, you have to release your code under GPLv3 too.
